The Richard Onslow – Cranleigh

The Richard Onslow is certainly now our favourite pub and restaurant in Cranleigh and wow what a different a change of ownership can make.

We arrived around 7:30pm for early evening drinks before dinner and from the moment we walked in the bar staff are attentive and welcoming. They have an impressive selection of hand-picked wines, trendy largers and a always a guest local beer.

We were lucky enough to get a seat by the open fire to sit back and enjoy the buzz and atmosphere while slowly drinking our lovely bottle of Argentinian Malbec.

We ordered our food from beside the fire and when it was ready the kind staff brought us through to beautifully decorated dining room. We had the fish cakes and the steak and each plate came beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and each bite had our taste buds salivating. We did not want the meal to end.

Dessert followed after a sensible pause, which again was immaculately presented with taste explosion on every mouthful.

After dinner the friendly staff sat with us and took the time to get to know us and show an interested in what we thought.

So have we been back, YES. Would we go again, YES. Would we recommend you try it out, YES.

Do sign up to their newsletter and follow then on social media as some of the events, specialist food nights, deals and offers they do will certainly make your visit very worth while.
