Shopping in town today we decided to see what Waitrose had on offer. This Chateau Liversan Haut Medoc 2011 was recommended to us by the kind gentleman in the wine section. The Chateau Liversan Haut Medoc 2011 usually retails for £13.99 but was on offer today for £9.99 and please do grab it while its on offer.

For once we had a Saturday night in together, a take away from Wagamama, this lovely bottle of wine and the semi-final of the voice on the box what more could one want after a long week.

This is a brilliant-value Bordeaux, which has a strong following for its value for money. It boasts a rich and seductive nose, followed by a round palate full of ripe blackberry flavours. The finish is long and succulent, with smoky notes, making it an excellent wine to accompany red meats or game.

I think we are heading back into town tomorrow to get another bottle or two for the next wine tasting evening.
