Larry Cherubino Cruel Mistress Pinot Noir 2020

A Cruel Mistress is an elegant lady. She’s strong but subtle and you can’t help but look into her deep crimson eyes.

This year I had the privilege of trying out a very special wine, called The Cruel Mistress a Pinot Noir from Western Australia.
A Cruel Mistress is an elegant lady. She’s strong but subtle and you can’t help but look into her deep crimson eyes.
Upon opening the wine, you’ll notice that she smells like raspberries and cherries. Like a typical lady, she is light on her feet and dances around the room with grace and charm.
You may think that she is perfect, but be careful! She can turn on you in an instant! Just as you start to trust her and feel comfortable with her charms, she will slap you across the face with just enough acidity to make your tongue tingle.
Perhaps this is how she got her name? Don’t let this scare you though; it’s not a bad thing. Her acidity makes this Pinot Noir very food-friendly so bring on the food!
After tasting this exquisite wine, I became a huge fan and let me tell you, this was one of the nicest wines I have had this year. It had a rich, full-bodied taste with hints of cherry and vanilla (which are two of my favourite flavours).

This exquisite bottle comes from Western Australia where grapes grow throughout the year instead of just during harvest time like in other parts of Australia or California.

This means that they’re able to produce some really high-quality wines at affordable prices because they don’t have to worry about things like frost damage which would otherwise destroy crops before they could be harvested properly (and would make them less flavorful too!).
There are some things about this Pinot Noir that really set it apart for me as a Pinot lover. First of all, this wine has some serious fruit flavour — which is especially awesome because it’s not over-the-top sweet or too acidic. It’s super fruity but in a balanced way. Black cherry notes are so prominent in this wine that I actually tasted them before I even read the tasting notes on the back of the bottle. (Aka — they’re obvious.)

If you love Pinot Noir and you’re on the hunt for new wines to try, and you want to find something that makes sense for your palate preferences without breaking the bank this Cruel Mistress 2020 from Western Australia is a bottle that delivers on all of those points and is available to buy from Taurus Wines
